And congrats to Ireland’s first Oscar leading actor winner Cillian Murphy… and have we got nukes for you, you can visit Los Alamos.
And a host of other sites of nuclear interest around the world.
All under the umbrella of dark tourism but equally vital to our human understanding.
Remember Los Alamos

The Los Alamos Historical Museum explores life in the Secret City during the Manhattan Project.
Since 2016, a free Temporary Museum Site is open at 475 20th Street as the museum is under renovation and expansion.
And also gratis is the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
With a great part of the exposition covers the history of the Manhattan Project.
The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History in Albuquerque, also in NM, serves as America’s resource for nuclear history and science and costs $8.
Strip the bomb

Of course, this being America then there is a version of everything in Las Vegas.
So you’ll not be surprised to see that Vegas has a nuclear attraction, the Nuclear Museum.
Artifacts, pictures, maps and video footage present nuclear weapons testing and development.
Museum $14, museum and Area 51 exhibit $20.

Now Los Alamos is inextricably linked with the two Japanese cities the Americans dropped their bombs on.
And visitors can make a pilgrimage to the Atomic Memorial Museum in Hiroshima and the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.

Of course, sadly, Oppenheimer’s deadly toy has affected us all over the world.
And there are still vestiges of the Cold War across the old Soviet Bloc.
Which you can see first hand in the Central and Eastern European cities of Europe.
In the bunker

With Prague, in particular, concentrated with old bunkers which you can visit on tours.
So, if your interest has been pricked by Oppenheimer and you want to learn more.
Have we got nukes for you… it’s out there to be rediscovered.
