My Sporting Weekend – Vegas showman Fury

Garish clothes and grandstanding in Las Vegas – Tyson Fury’s a master at it too.

Sport right this way

The new two-time World Heavyweight champion brought the house down this morning in the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

And it will be to Neon City that I will bring my shirt – and the rest of my wardrobe in May.

They already know me on The Strip… Strip… the light fantastic

Put your shirt on him

Where there is a host of sporting opportunities.

Ice, ice baby

Ice Hockey: The Vegas Golden Knights only got to the Stanley Cup final, North America’s prime competition, in their inaugural season.

The Golden Knights play in the T Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, near Vegas.

See https://www.nhl.com/goldenknights.

Touchdown Vegas

American Football: It is not uncommon for American sports to up sticks and move town.

And Oakland, California’s loss is Las Vegas’s gain with the Las Vegas Raiders kicking off the 2020-2021 season at the Allegiant Stadium, also in Paradise.

Sports mad

Also throw in the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA who play their games at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Minor League baseball and second-tier soccer, golf, the USA Sevens tournament, the biggest in North America, and speedway.

And it is clear to see that Vegas is a knockout city for sport. Visit https://www.lvcva.com.

Skates Czech, ice Czech

I’ll have ice in that: Zatec

In other ice hockey-related news… it’s only the Czech Republic’s national sport.

And as you can see from this picture in Zatec.

Where they hold two major hop festivals a year and also boast a hop museum and the Temple of Hop and Beer they start them early.

Hop springs eternal

Lucasz, our host is a referee while his seven-year-old Vladi has dreams of playing for the local club.

And even better the Czech national team.

It is well worth a visit… http://chchp.cz/cz/chram-chmele-a-piva.

And www.czechtourism.com. A couple on these travels Hungry and Thursday – Czech please, Hotel Beethoven – Fur Elise and Bye, bye baby – Cerny’s Prague.

And one I prepared earlier Hope springs eternal.
